I’m Ilham, a 26-year-old ex-Muslim and atheist from Afghanistan. I worked as a contractor for the DEA, CENTCOM, and the Department of Justice. After publicly criticizing Islam and its laws, I faced severe danger under the Islamic republic of Afghanistan and even worse under Taliban Regime, who impose the death penalty for such beliefs. I had to escape to Turkey, where I now live in dire conditions in a rundown apartment. I suffer from multiple medical issues and struggle to afford my college fees. The Taliban have access to biometric data of former allies like me, and if they find me, I fear for my life. I urgently need help to survive here, pay for my medicine and education, and find a safe country. your support in any form or way even a simple Hello is what gives me reason to fight.
