Ex-muslims 5 years, 2 months ago If you live in a Muslim country and you are facing abuse due to being an apostate DO NOT CONTACT THE POLICE I repeat DO. NOT. CONTACT. THE POLICE.
unless you have a pretty strong case against your abuser that doesn’t involve your apostacy, it is useless and in most cases dangerous to tell authorities. I can only speak for Egypt. If I go right now and tell the police about what my father does to me, they will most likely abuse me themselves. Even if legally abuse is a bigger crime than apostasy. Policemen might decide to take matters into their own hands and “punish” you themselves.

This is only true in case you got enough access to information and you are allowed multiple options socially, but in most cases the ones who are forced to stick to their religions are ones who are first to leave. As well, they are the ones who lack resources, that’s why it is one of the biggest mistakes ever to come out without checking out on your closest network. These are ones that turn against you, especially if you don’t show any sign of commitment to their daily spiritual practices.
Very much right. I have seen a lot of cases like this in my religious society
